In response to Ministry of Justice guides published for members of the public to understand the court process, Jonathan Black, BSB Partner and President of London Criminal Courts Solicitors Courts told The Times that the guide “failed to make any reference to disclosure or to tell unrepresented defendants that they were entitled to see the case against them as well as information from the prosecution that might help the defence”.
If you have received a requisition through the post or been charged to attend court, it is important that you contact a criminal defence specialist as soon as possible so that they can advise whether you qualify for representation and obtain information about the case against you,. If you do not qualify for legal aid we can discuss private representation and whether it is necessary.
